Pot Bound

The plant grew
and flourished, like love.
But neglect,
over time,
made both lose the will to live.
Death was a kindness.
Tess and Zelko Nedic at Mag 128 provided the prompt for this sad shadorma!

Daybreak

Coming home
after a night out,
morning sun
won the race
to her front door. Yesterday
would be remembered.

The Separateness Of Trees

Ancient trees,
sentinels guarding
a pathway,
form an arch,
a bright, dappled corridor
of living beauty.

Bowed branches
ache to touch leaf tips,
to entwine
and caress
for a moment each other's
foliage fingers.

Their embrace,
broken by the breeze,
marks the end
of Summer.
Fall will paint its glory till
sap-filled veins turn sere.
