Here are 160 characters of a somewhat dubious kind, to accompany a flight of fancy inspired by the Mag photo this week, thanks to Tess, and her image by Robert and Shana Parke-Harrison.
Molten rock spewed from the tunnel mouth. A hideous, winged fiend clawed its way along the inhospitable terrain.
There would be no place to hide from its jaws.
Of course, a less colourful option is still intriguing, suggesting as it does the birth of a new phoenix, perhaps...
