Old and Young

As an Old Blogger of 77, and taking the word 'Young' to mean something recently begun, this morning my interest in blogging began anew - a fresh start if you like. This lead me eventually to Imaginary Garden, and a diatribe about Fathers and Sons.
It reminded me of something I wrote many moons ago, but which seemed perfectly apt for this subject:-

New For Old

Seasons roll forward,
Earth spins onward
in its elliptical round.

Old Year to New Year,
time’s cogs change gear.
Bells herald it with their sound.

Flaunting its drab gown,
Old Year winds down,
greeting the year that’s to come.

Wipe all the slates clean,
then dream a new dream.
Happy New Year everyone!

If The Old greets The New in a spirit of cooperation, without harping on sins of past generations, or imagining possible faults of  future generations, then I would predict there may be hope for all !

  1. Must be something about the month of June that makes me turn to Blogs Old and New, but not
    necessarily young. :-)
